Let’s hope they don’t find an artifact of unimaginable evil power. YUM!
Update 24 dropped last week and although I haven’t been able to try any of the new quests yet, (I recently TR’d and usually focus on one character at a time) I have gotten to play with the barbarian enhancements and muck around with the Champion monsters.
I’ll have to play with it some more but I don’t see a huge difference with the barbarian enhancements. It could be because I don’t have a typical barbarian. I have a dual heavy pick wielding barb. I think I might roll up a traditional barbarian and see if I tell the difference. I do like the added healing amp. It definitely makes those potions go farther. On a side note I’d like to see a great pick added to the game. Imagine a two handed heavy pick. The crits would be insane!
The Champions are interesting. They add a bit of a challenge but it’s typically not hard enough to wipe a party. You have to change your tactics just a bit to compensate. I’ve seen champion NPCs too. My favorite were the guys running away from the gambling tables in the Bringing the Light quest. I haven’t played with them in epic content though. My next thought is are there going to be Hero and Legend monsters next? Is Harry going to TR and that’s what we’ll have to face if we ever get an Epic Shroud? That would be interesting.
So it looks like Update 24 has been pushed back. At least for a few days. The build that they put together for release was messed up. I would think it had to be pretty bad. Turbine, specifically DDO, has been know to release updates with some big bugs. I think this is another step in the right direction. The plan is to release the update sometime this week. I’m happy to wait until it’s completely done. On the plus side you get a few more days to crunch any cards you have left over as you will no longer be able to when U24 is released.
On a side note when U24 drops the Harper Tree will be unlockable with 310 Harper favor.
